About Me

Friendly, cheerful, outgoing, etc. are some commonly used adjectives for me. A marketer by profession, my latest and rapidly growing interest is in Digital Media. I love to play guitar and(to the dismay of people around)like to sing along a bit :p

Bye Bye 2010.....U behaved like a good boy!

And here we are.....at the ending of yet another eventful year and the beginning of yet another pestering blog post.

It was an year to be remembered, an year to be rejoiced, and an year that brought along with it a bag of mixed emotions such as fulfilment, anxiety, achievement, confusion, happiness, sadness, "sadness for being still single"(believe me, that can really be counted as just one word, ask me how! :P) and laughter(Rajnikant jokes were a major contributor to this one).

The year started on a good note with the feeling of achievement and fulfilment; fulfilment of things i had been looking forward to since quite some time now. I had recently started learning guitar and bought myself a new one(and i still continue making people stuff cotton buds in their ears). The cherry on the cake was that i didn't borrow money from either my parents or my friends. It was something i "owned completely".
Then came our farewell party, where i got this opportunity to perform on stage with a couple of friends(yes it was my usual hip-hop and rap, and yes we sucked at it.....but i fulfilled my dream to go out there and entertain the crowds). Those 5 minutes of glory will always be registered in my cerebrum.

Next came in the long wait and anxiety. MBA was over but not over. Placement scenario at our college was pretty much like a shoe sale; you have plenty of stuff to pick up, but it doesn't match your taste and seldom do you get the right size for yourself. All banking and insurance companies found comfort in our campus, something not of my liking. I tried and failed a number of times in other companies. It was the learning of a lifetime. The shoe branded as "failure" had kicked me pretty hard in the rear end.
The funny thing about a "shoe sale" is that you try your level best to find the right fit and are lost amongst the crowd, but eventually you do happen to stumble upon something worthy. I had finally got a shoe of my liking and it was a good fit at the same time. Though somehow i knew this one won't last for long.....

Working at Matrix was fun. There were learnings i drew out from my short stint with the company: COLD CALLING is certainly a cold skill to learn. But once you get on with it, things really warm up. There were accolades i received from my team mates and bosses for the work i accomplished. Not much time had passed when i got this opportunity from Godfrey Phillips. Believe me, its not only the cigarettes that draw people, but also the companies that manufacture these death sticks. Since i joined GPI, life and along with it, me, are on the move 24/7. Though there are no cold calls here, but there are numerous other things to learn. And considering the fact that i am a somewhat "extra enthusiastic learner", full advantage of this opportunity is being grabbed by yours truly :).

Some Trivia: This year has seen a bombardment of Rajnikant jokes. It was pretty analogical to the the pepsi advert, with the exception that here we eat, drink and sleep rajnikant jokes. I myself must have set a personal record of sending the maximum rajni jokes as sms. Whatever phobia or fever it was, it surely was fun and certainly made me laugh my guts out at times. All respect to Rajni Ji(i hope he bestows his blessings upon GOD so that he can protect us).....YANNA RASCALAA.....MIND IT!!!!!

So now that i am a post graduate and working, my parents imagine their son sitting on the hot seat (hot sofa actually, with a creature named 'bride') in near future. They say all parents have that "dark side", i just saw it in my parents :P. There's still a lot more to be done and explored before making my way up to the 'guillotine of marriage'.

Quite contrary to my habit of breaking rules, i won't be breaking the tradition of making resolutions for the new year. Start working out again, keep learning guitar, add some value to myself(ooooo.....sounds pretty cool eh!), possess some gadgets on my wish list, meet the woman of my dreams(ah cmon, every guy has this one on his list at the onset of an year, although we never divulge it ;)) and last but not the least(and also the most important), making people around smile no matter what (even if it takes more rajnikant jokes :P).

With all that said, and making you waste your (not so) precious time on this post, here's wishing you and your family a very happy and prosperous new year.

Here we come 2011!!!!!

Keep Smiling :)

Gags ;)
